When you have to read faster than normal, 17 tips

Here are seventeen systems, methods, approaches.

System one. The easiest and least painful way to read faster is to think that way and act accordingly, really striving to read faster. Just scroll the page a little faster each time you read a book, magazine, or publication. It works well when you’re queuing at the grocery store, waiting at the doctor’s or dentist’s office.

System two. Watch movies and shorts with subtitles and try to read the lines. It will seem difficult at first, but it is an exercise that will take you a little faster when choosing a post to read. If anything, it will make you feel a bit uncomfortable with reading. That may be a good thing. Giving those brain cells a little exercise is good.

System Three. One of my favorites is to get an audiobook and keep going while the narrator reads the work aloud. This has a double effect. You see the words and then you hear them. But it goes a bit further with sound effects and increased reading speed. You can’t help but read a little faster. The best part is when you put the book down for a moment and go back to the book, just to start all over again. You will find yourself reading a little faster. You’re going through the same stuff, but what happens with the special effects is amazing. Our whole mental attitude changes for the better. You will never be the same again after experiencing audiobooks. The more time you spend in this field, the better.

System Four. Of course, you can always buy a speed or speed reading program that moves you at several different paces. I find that system a bit dodgy and a bit disconcerting because every time I used it, it seemed to revert to my old way of reading. I think about being forced and that changes my morale. This happens even though I know I’m supposed to read a lot faster.

System five. One of the most popular methods today is mental photography. This is where the active participant reads at a reading speed of at least 25,000 words per minute. It is wonderful to apply the exercises that come later. Those after the drills hit a home run.

System six. There is another system called Alfred Porter’s Reading Strategy. This system is much faster than mental photography and has follow-up exercises that show instant results. It makes you a believer. It uses and cross-references several different test models and exercises, such as mind maps, multiple intelligences, preferred learning styles, affirmations, and some old and non-traditional methods. When you finish that program, you feel that your understanding has improved tremendously.

System Seven. Photo reading is another powerful system and has results similar to mental photography. They are like brother and sister shows.

System eight. The old speed and speed reading techniques can be applied. They have a place in reading today; however, it is primarily used when covering material that has already been reviewed. That way, fast and fast reading is great. Most students use speed and speed reading when preparing for tests and quizzes. They rarely use them when reading normally. Also many professionals, or anyone trying to prepare for a presentation or a quick review, often rely on these approaches.

System Nine. You may find that taking reading sessions after drinking energy drinks, coffee, or super vitamins can also increase your reading comprehension and speed.

System ten. Try to read when you are not very tired and try to read interesting material. That will also cheer you up through new or old material.

System Eleven. If you hate reading, watch videos or movies first. Read the book later. Today they have the script for the film on hand in book form. That can also help you prepare for the material.

System Twelve. “Masterplots” is a great way to review a classic work. They may also have modern works available. With “master plots” or “quick notes” you can get a very good summary and if you add a lot of visualization you will find yourself enjoying the chosen work.

System thirteen. Bribe to read, if it is so boring for you.

System fourteen. Read the material you have to read aloud and record it too. This would be an excellent practice if you have to review the material.

System fifteen. Look for recordings already made in the material or in your field of choice.

System sixteen. Learn so much about your field of interest that every time you read or hear something in your field you will have a new energy and reading comprehension. You will read faster when you have more knowledge. Think of a doctor reading a basic book on health and science. How fast do you think I could read the material?

System seventeen. Ask someone to summarize and record your reading material, so you can listen to it as many times as possible.
