An American love send me a weird Scotsman

Old flame, but not that old

Friends on Wiki and my blog will recall a memoir I had written about a romantic interlude when I was a project manager for the UN Tribal Welfare Project in Palghar under the aegis of the WHO. It was one of the rare moments in my life that I can relive 100 times and it goes with my philosophy of flying supersonic and loving fair women.

It was a stormy affair with a young doctor, an American who was attached to the project. But like all good things, this matter ended when she left and I continued on my way and now I land in the United Arab Emirates.

Despite being far away, he called me because a bond had developed between us. He called me on the phone the other day and told me that since I liked good whiskey he was giving me 2 bottles of single malt Scotch. I was surprised, but the gift arrived the other day by courier and I was excited to open the package.

The Ardberg

Two bottles came out of the package. The first was Ardbeg, which bills itself as the best Islay Single Malt Scotch. It is guaranteed for 10 years and is distilled at Arbeg Distellery on the Isle of Islay, Argyll, Scotland. The Arberg Distillery is located in the southernmost part of Islay and is situated right on the rugged shores of the Atlantic Ocean.

Arberg whiskey is not cold filtered and has a concentration of 46%, thus preserving maximum flavor. This is supposed to be the best single malt whiskey that all other whiskeys aspire to be. It’s a great drink, but I’ve had it very seldom.

The Duthac

The second bottle was the Glenmorangie specialty brand, Duthac. This whiskey is supposed to be inspired by King James IV, who paid an annual visit to the distillery and the inventor of this concoction, Dr. Bill Lumsden, established and created this whiskey for the king.

Whiskey, I am told, has a special flavor, but I must confess that I have never tasted it before. What a girl, to pick up a rare whiskey that I’ve never tasted before. Whiskey has been around for many years and is marketed only in limited quantities to the elite. It is a deep bronze colored whiskey and I am looking forward to drinking it.

I will add that I called my girl and thanked her and mentioned that she knew that my taste included beautiful women too. He said he will come on vacation and friends, what better than a vacation at the Mercure Resort in the Jebel Hafeet Mountains in the United Arab Emirates. Great place to relive old memories with rare whiskey.
