Are the NFL Playoffs Still Exciting?

The most famous of the possible AFC Championship games would have been a matchup between the Colts and the Patriots. There is a lot of history between these two teams in the playoffs and the media would have been in a frenzy if these two teams had met.

The most exciting teams in the NFC would be the Bears and Giants due to their wide market appeal. Instead, the NFC has a team from Seattle that few care about and a team from Carolina that is new to the NFL.

There’s definitely a case to be made that this year’s NFL Playoffs are shaping up to be a less-than-spectacular football season for the media, but for the average fan, it’s far more exciting.

No one can deny what a great season the Broncos have had at home. No one can deny being in awe of what Big Ben is capable of in his second year with the Steelers. No one can deny what a great season the Seahawks have had nor can they deny the incredible run the Panthers are having.

No matter what the television ratings are for the championship games, these games are still exciting and the wishes of the teams still playing are very real.

I’m glad the Colts aren’t playing anymore because we don’t have to listen to Peyton talk anymore. I’m glad the Bears aren’t playing anymore because we don’t have to listen to how their defense ranks among the best. I’m glad the Patriots aren’t playing anymore because we don’t have to hear how complicated Tom Brady is. Hopefully now we can focus on football.
