How to make money buying and selling used motorcycle parts

Used motorcycle parts are in abundance these days due to the increasing number of people who ride motorcycles all over the world. Fear of global warming has forced several countries to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by having fewer cars on national roads. In the midst of the global turmoil surrounding global warming, there is an opportunity to win thousands of dollars. Motorcycle riders are increasing in number every day, leading many entrepreneurs to invest in the business of buying and selling motorcycle parts.

You don’t need to be a motor mechanic to start a motorcycle parts sales business, just entrepreneurial mindset. The first thing you need to do is choose a place of business. Once this is done, your next task should be to advertise your business in your community. Advertising can be achieved by distributing flyers, putting up posters in public areas, and also placing advertisements in newspapers and car magazines. I really wouldn’t advise you to start a business just yet; High income taxes can hurt a business of this nature.

You need to find spare parts in any way possible. Many people in the auto parts buying and selling business go to auto complexes looking for damaged or impounded vehicles. Repossessed vehicles are those motor vehicles, including motorcycles, that have been declared unroadworthy or without the necessary ownership documentation. Business people hardly resort to these because the common misconception is that they are hard to come by. The reality is that government agencies are eager to get rid of them, including through the various auctions and open sales they have.

These vehicles and motorcycles can be obtained cheaply and can be dismantled for parts. Once you’ve broken down these parts, you can easily refurbish them and sell them for prices so low you’ll find it impossible not to make a profit.

Another way to make money through parts is by contracting with the major motorcycle manufacturing companies. If you schedule meetings with such manufacturers and establish business links, you may end up becoming a distributor for them. The great thing about being a dealer is that you get parts cheaply and sell them at your own price, sometimes without even having to pay cash up front.

But once all is said and done, standard business practices like honesty, customer loyalty, and consistent good service make for a well-founded and profitable business venture.
