Jeep Compass chooses Goodyear tires
Jeep has selected Goodyear Wrangler as its tire supplier for the upcoming lineup. Goodyear Wrangler SR-A tires in size P215 / 65R17 were incorporated to establish the Jeep parts to produce more efficient vehicles. This tire will serve as original equipment for the 2007 version of the Jeep Compass. The latter is the automaker’s new compact SUV that is based on the Dodge Caliber and GS platform. This model is now available for dealer.
It should be remembered that Compass was unveiled at the 2006 North American International Auto Show last January. Four months later, the first Compass was produced. The latest from Jeep along with Patriot (both based on the DaimlerChrysler / Mitsubishi GS platform), replaced Liberty as the automaker’s entry-level SUV. Compass is designed as a hot hatch sports crossover, while Patriot is designed to take on the appeal of a traditional car.
Compass is Jeep’s first crossover SUV. It has a 172 hp (128 kW) GEMA I4 2.4 L petrol engine. In addition, the car has an electronically controlled all-wheel drive system. The latter is capable of managing torque between speeds of 25 and 65 mph. In the United States, this vehicle model has a base price of $ 15,985.
Jeep Compass boasts a combination of SUV functionality, handling, packaging, fuel economy and powerful performance. Compass has a fully independent suspension for better handling and on-road performance. It is offered with front and all-wheel drive on Sport and Limited models.
Goodyear Wrangler SR-A, on the other hand, is a tire that is designed to handle off-road traction. It is also ideal for smooth and quiet road driving. Goodyear tires are original equipment on select Acura, Audi, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Honda, Hummer, Infiniti, Isuzu, Jeep, Land Rover, Lexus, Mazda, Mercury, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Toyota vehicles.
Jeep, through its partnership with Goodyear, is expected to produce vehicles with cutting edge performance and appearance. Goodyear tires are used by many vehicles in North America. In addition, Goodyear is considered to be one of the most in-demand tire manufacturers in that part of the world.
