marbled cake

Ingredients:

150 grams all-purpose flour
150 grams unsalted butter, room temperature
100 grams castor sugar
3 large eggs
1 egg yolk
100 ml of plain milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons of chocolate powder
2 teaspoons baking powder

Addresses:

1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease and flour a 22 x 10 x 8 cm baking pan, set aside.
2. Mix and sift all-purpose flour and baking powder into a large bowl, set aside.
3. In the bowl of your electric mixer, beat the butter until light and creamy, gradually adding the powdered sugar, continuing to beat until the mixture is light and fluffy.
4. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating on low speed, adding the plain milk and vanilla extract, continuing to beat until just combined after each addition, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.
5. Turn off mixer. Add the sifted all-purpose flour mixture and baking powder little by little, stirring until everything is well integrated.
6. Divide the dough into two portions. Add half of the mass with chocolate powder, mix well.
7. For the white dough and the chocolate dough alternately. Using a knife or fork, gently draw swirls through the dough to give it a marbled effect. Don’t mix too much or you won’t get a good marble effect.
8. Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 45 minutes until cooked.
9. Test it with a toothpick, insert the toothpick into the cake, if it comes out clean, your cake is ready.
10. Remove from the oven and unmold the cake from the mold, let cool.
11. Slice the cake, serve.
