Tired of the rat race – party yacht charters are a dream come true

As I drove or rather parked on the highway waiting for the cars ahead to move, all I could think about was being back on the water watching the sunset. You see, I was recently invited to a corporate party on a party yacht charter. This was no ordinary ship. It had all the amenities and there were about 150 guests including myself happily.

“Oh great,” I thought to myself as I noticed there was some movement ahead and the line of cars was moving away. Finally, I might get a few hundred yards on my 30-mile drive home. About an hour and a half and a quarter on a tank of gas realistically. At the time, wouldn’t you know? The guy in front of me was texting and didn’t move. Four cars from the other two lanes merged in front of him before he moved, he was having a flashback to that old Breaking Down movie where the guy in the wheelchair moves faster than the traffic on the freeway (parking lot).

The only thing that kept me together were my fond memories of my trips on that wonderful party yacht charter. I suddenly didn’t care that the lady in the Mercedes was less than a foot from my bumper, or that the guy in the truck was trying to intimidate me into backing up so he could pull into my lane ahead of me. I also didn’t give a damn about just getting hand signaled that I was number one by a motorcycle splitting lanes at 45mph. No, all I could think about was planning a getaway with my family and closest friends and going on a party yacht, sailing to the Sunset.

I remembered a conversation I had with the captain of the yacht charter party I attended, he explained that each party was unique and personalized, all pre-planned to your satisfaction. As a guest, I was more than satisfied. I will never forget. And I want to go back to the open sea again, and the sooner the better. But enough daydreaming for a day. I saw my exit coming up ahead, almost home.

It was time to relax and start planning my own party on the yacht. Who would you invite? What date would you put? What kind of events would I like? Dinner, dance, whale watching, sunset hunting. I guess I have a lot to think about before I hit the morning switch the next day.
