In the old days, mud bogging was done by pickup trucks or any sport utility vehicle (SUV) that is modified with the suspensions lifted and has larger tires. Upgraded vehicle engines were also common at the time. During the 1970s and early 1980s larger tractor tires gained much popularity and the drive lines required for such tires led to some of the first purpose built machines as mud jam machines.

In the late 1980s, governing bodies began to prioritize the vehicles alongside the lower, modified dragster-type designs as their popularity increased. At the same juncture, superchargers became widely used, giving rise to the modern blue-chip racer.

At the same time, mud-jamming events were very popular and there used to be a class that involved running the tractor trucks. The trucks were like Goldbricker, Arizona Outlaw, Arizona Sidewinder, Six Pack, Nasty Habits, Instant Motion, Mud Pup, Mud Lord, Wild Thing, and Cyclops was mainly known in the field. Some trucks were later modified to look like Monster Trucks.

There are many companies that are organizing this event at a very affordable price. Again, these events depend a lot on the taste of the residents of a city. If the local people are more excited about this game then the ticket price goes up and if it is on the other side where there is very little audience for the game then the fee goes down to promote the game. Play bodies again play an important role here in helping the mud track owner get a good return from any organized event on mud sticking.

Speaking of tracks, there are many qualities and types of them such as an open bog, bog with small rock, flat or progressive bog or it can be a hill with holes. These swamps come in different shapes and designs that can range from 150 feet to 300 feet. In general, an open bog is considered to be a natural bog that is usually found near any forest area. The hill with holes normally ranges from 18 meters to 61 meters as it is a series of hills and holes. Likewise, flat or progressive tracks are like drag strips or even full of salt and all tracks that go into the NMRO are generally flat.
