What is a karmic soulmate?

One of the most interesting, yet puzzling things about life is that of all the people in the world, a lucky few will touch our lives in a special way and leave lasting impressions. One of those people is your karmic soulmate.

While other soul mates enter your life for intimate reasons, karmic soul mates do not; because they are the ones who come into your life to teach you something about yourself or help you with a particular task.

While there is usually no sexual relationship with this person, there is still that bond, that closeness, that inevitable feeling that this person is quite special. It may be a special friend, a co-worker or even a member of your family, but one thing is for sure, without them your life would not be complete.

I have compiled ten questions and answers that will explain in more detail what karmic soul mates are all about. I hope that you come out with a clearer understanding of the soulmate karmic relationship and can use this knowledge to recognize those people who touch you in a way that no one else can.

Can a karmic relationship go to the next level?

No. Once a karmic soulmate, always a karmic soulmate. Don’t let yourself fall into the trap of believing that there is more there than there really isn’t. Karmic soulmate only comes into your life to teach you something or you teach them and then they, just like you, move on.

What kinds of lessons do karmic soulmates teach you?

Of course. But when they do, it is to learn new lessons.

You say that family members can be karmic soulmates. Can you give an example?

Your mother is your first karmic soulmate. The aunt who took care of you when your parents couldn’t is another example. The grandmother who encouraged you throughout the university and was always there for you when others could not or did not want to. Good examples of karmic soulmates. They support you, love you and are there for you.

Can animals also be soul mates?

Yes, as fun as it may sound, animals can fall into this category.

I have a story in my anthology, Romancing the Soul, by an amazing writer named Avie Townsend who beautifully exemplifies the karmic soulmate experience.

When I read his story about a cat he had named Eli, I knew right away that he was no ordinary pet. Avie and Eli had connected on a spiritual level and exhibited extraordinary personal communication. Cats, like other animals, all have souls.

Remember, every living organism on this earth can become your soul mate.

If so, what about that philodendron sitting in my living room? It is a living organism. Can that plant also be a soulmate?

Oddly enough, yes. Due to the fact that it is a living, breathing organism, it has the potential to become a karmic soulmate. Have you ever seen a homeless person carrying a certain plant? I have. That plant must have had special meanings or could it be that they were connected on a karmic soulmate plane? Safe!

It is a documented fact that when you talk to plants, they thrive. Ignore them, and while they may not die, they don’t prosper as much as if you “connected” with them on a spiritual level. Talk to your plants and see if I’m not right.

Anything that is breathing and alive can be a potential soulmate.

Could I end up marrying my karmic soulmate?

No. This would fall under the category of soulmate companion.

What are the differences?

A karmic soulmate comes into your life to teach them something or learn something from them. A soulmate mate comes into your life to be intimate and / or have children.

A karmic soulmate enters your life intermittently, while a soulmate partner’s relationship can last for years.

A karmic soulmate is the easiest soulmate to find, while the mate takes time and a lot of thought and is the most tumultuous of the three separate classes of soulmates.

Why do you say tumultuous?

The soulmate’s karmic relationship generally remains stable, while the accompanying soulmate comes with its own set of problems. That is not to say that there will be no differences within the karmic soulmate relationship, but that it never becomes as explosive as it does within the soulmate companion relationship. Of the three types of soulmates: Karmic, Partner, and Soulmate, the partner relationship is the category that requires a lot of work for it to be successful. A karmic soulmate relationship requires little, if any, work to maintain an even balance of wills and demands.

What else would you like to say about soulmates?

In order for you to fulfill your life’s destiny, you must allow your karmic soulmates to enter your life. What if Lucy hadn’t had Ethel to get her out of all this trouble? Karmic soulmates enter your life for reasons and it is through them that we discover an important side of life in general and of ourselves as well. Our lives wouldn’t be complete if it weren’t for the amazing karmic soulmate bond.
